Student Teacher Screening
One year before student teaching, teacher candidates in the department of English Language and Literature must complete the screening process. Screening has two main parts: the candidate first submits a written screening portfolio to the English Education Committee, then meets the committee for a 30-minute interview. Screening is preceded by two mandatory meetings, one in at the end of the semester prior to screening, and one at the beginning of the screening semester.
Teacher candidates who think that they are ready to screen (or have questions about screening) should email the screening director, Heather GS Johnson, to register for screening (please include your full name and student ID number)
